Our Coffee
OUR HISTORY
Don Raul Welchez bought finca Santa Isabel in the early 1950s. He had always been a visionary man who had loved farms and cherished good coffee. From the beginning, he implemented the procedures and techniques necessary to produce a high quality coffee. Despite the volatile coffee prices, his efforts slowly but surely paid off as more and more people heard of Don Raul’s quality coffee. In the 1970s he managed to expand some more to offer his coffee to customers in the region.
By the mid 90s his two sons decided to name the coffee Café Welchez. Finca Santa Isabel is still run by Don Raúl two sons, so you can be sure that when you buy Welchez Gourmet Coffee, the quality is consistently high.

It has been more than a half century, but the farm "Santa Isabel" is what Don Raul visualized the day it was bought "a place where families can earn an honest living; a preferred home for the local fauna where intelligent management of soil, water and forests are part of the daily work; a natural laboratory classroom where young people from around the world can come to learn about agroforestry techniques and coffee". Above all, Santa Isabel is a place where visitors can "feel at home", finding a table prepared to savor a cup of coffee "Welchez”.
